Dear Friends of FFN

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support of the Nepali cause, without which none of this could have been possible.

The municipality elections were held this month in Nepal, which was a fraught time for us all. But I am happy to announce that they went off smoothly and life has returned to normal! Having gone home during the election period, the kids returned to the school soon after. As we speak, they are preparing for Tibetan New Year on Tuesday to be followed in a months time by Nepali New Year [such is there love for parties that they get to celebrate New Year three times]. They are also going on a picnic next week with some Changing World Volunteers, so as soon as I have some photos of the outing I shall pass them on to you.

We are also please to announce that FFN, in collaboration with Alphas, has begun a volunteer programme .Our first volunteer will be going to Nepal in July, but he will hopefully be the first of many.

We are also happy to announce that next year we will be taking a group of students from Leeds University on our Everest trip. This now brings the number of Everest groups to three for the summer of 2007. This will allow us to sponsor 6 more kids at the hostel for 10 years, as well as 9 one-off building projects in different community areas.

Preparations for FFN's birthday party on the 25th of June are now all completed and the response has been very positive. It is going to be a fantastic night, I can not wait!

If you have any questions with regards to FFN's activities, please feel free to contact me anytime by email or on 07795972961.

Thank you again

Take Care

Tom Wells
